From a spa originally established by ancient Romans, Bath developed into a center of British wool industry in the Middle Ages, and finally formed its present appearance under the rule of George III in the 18 th century: an elegant mountain city with neoclassical Palladian architecture. Although it is small in scale, it is as aesthetic as London and Edinburgh.

Visit the ruins of ancient Roman baths built in 70 AD, which retain early pagan idols and sacred pools; Gothic-style Bath Abbey, famous for the stone carving of “Jacob’s Ladder” on the wall outside the main entrance; Stroll through 18 th-century English manors and the Avon Riverside paths. Along the way, the guide will also take you to visit the excellent independent bookstores and furniture stores in the city, and recommend local taverns for lunch.

In the afternoon, take a 3-hour bus to Peak District National Park, and stay in an English manor located in a quiet village. The interior is simple and warm, and the restaurant attached to the hotel provides excellent country cuisine.

It is the former residence of British romantic poet william wordsworth. The tavern at the entrance of the village has a history of more than 200 years, with a simple interior and retaining the seats used by Wordsworth. Take a 3.5-hour ride to Fort William at the foot of Mount Ben Nevis, the highest peak in the UK, and visit the Glencoe Valley. It has the most representative highland wasteland in Scotland, and it also carries important historical events: about 30 members of the Macdonald clan who lived here in 1692 were massacred by government forces because they failed to declare allegiance to the new British monarchs William III and Mary II in time.
