Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Muscat

Arrive in Muscat, pick up by car to the hotel (visa-free entry with Chinese passports) and stay at The Chedi Hotel, the best hotel in the city, adjacent to the Gulf of Oman, with 3 swimming pools and 6 restaurants offering different flavors of cuisine.

Day 2 Muscat Full Day Tour

Different from regular tours, in addition to visiting the city’s landmarks, you will explore the cultural story of the city with a local guide who immigrated from Lebanon to Oman in 1960 s. Through the guide’s rich social network in the city, you will get in touch with locals engaged in different industries and learn about the social changes in one of the oldest countries in the Arabian Peninsula in the past 60 years.

Day 3 Valley Oasis, Head to Sur

Take a bus to the eastern coastal city of Sur, and arrange the following activities along the way:

○ Hiking an oasis in a secluded valley where fresh water pouring down from the depths of the mountains meets sea water. Depending on the tide conditions, you need to complete the exploration by boat + wading on foot (about 2 hours)

○ Visit the traditional sloop factory and watch the hand-built process of wooden boats

Day 4 Waterfall Creek Descent to the Wahibai Desert

Head to the hot and dry valley of Javier, start from the village, hike through palm forests, the ancient Afraja irrigation system (a unique feature of Oman desert agriculture, dating back to 500 AD, and there are still more than 3,000 irrigation canals in use across the country) and valleys full of boulders, and finally arrive at the oasis canyon, where you can explore by hiking/swimming/stream descent.

In the afternoon, enter the Wahibai Desert and stay in a tent camp that is inaccessible to mass tourists. The bedroom tent is spacious and comfortable, equipped with a separate toilet and hot bath; Public spaces are decorated with Berber carpets, and candles and oil lamps will be lit at night to present dinners with spiced roast lamb, kippered fish and fresh vegetables.

Day 5 Go to Green Mountain and visit mountain villages

Take an early morning stroll in the dunes near the camp and feel the light and shadow changes in the desert at sunrise. After breakfast, take a bus to the Jebel Akhdar Mountains with an average altitude of 2,000 meters. The following activities are arranged along the way:

○ Visit the Oman Cross-Epoch Museum, an excellent exhibition that comprehensively and completely tells the historical process from the first settlers in prehistory to the modern Sultanate of Oman

○ Visit a traditional mountain village with ancient clay brick fortresses and dwellings, and banana and date palms planted along the village canals in an Arab style

Day 6 Cliff Feilada, half-day holiday

Today, you might as well stimulate adrenaline, learn basic skills with the coach, and experience a leisurely afternoon hotel vacation in Feilada (about 2 hours) on the vertical rock wall of Hajar Mountains.

Day 7 Visit the village and oasis, end of drop-off

First, visit the 400-year-old mountain village, which has some of the best preserved traditional dwellings in the country, with distinct Yemeni decoration, with roofs made of palm beams and Palm Made of leaves, the top layer is covered with dirt and straw. Then travel through Oman’s most spectacular canyons, passing paradise-like villages as well as oasis valleys along the way.

Final drop-off at Muscat Airport to end the service. If the holiday permits, you can continue to connect with the Jordan route.
